Theatre comes to Ropery Hall

Two original theatre productions are on stage at Barton upon Humber’s Ropery Hall in quick succession.

Cua playing Ropery Hall as part of UK tour

Irish band Cua is performing at Ropery Hall later this month as part of a short tour of the UK following the release of its latest album, In Flight Off the Islands.

The trio made up of John Davidson, Shane Booth and Ros O’Meara is noted for its love of  world folk music and through the combination of great shows and hard work, has already  played two sold out shows at the prestigious Celtic Connections Festival at the beginning of the year.  Cua has also received national and local radio airplay in throughout the UK, Europe and the US and has shared a bill with Andy Irvine, The Furey’s, and Hazel O’Connor to name but a few. Barnstormers March Comedy Club

It’s the final show of the season. As ever, a lovely Barnstormers Comedy MC will be on hand to introduce three more top acts from the UK Comedy Circuit and beyond. Tonight, they are: cheeky laid back Northern wag Mike Wilkinson, ‘Relaxed and confident stage presence’ – The Last Laugh; freestyling stand-up Ben Van der Velde, ‘Whipsharp…with an air of mischievous mayhem…his hit rate is impressive, while his in-the-moment style creates a buzz of excitement in the room’ – Chortle; and excellent observational stand-up Paul Ricketts, ‘Weird and wonderful… Ricketts should be given his own TV show’ – The Stage

This month, guest Barnstormers’ Comedy MC Phillip Simon  will be on hand to introduce three more top acts from the UK Comedy Circuit and beyond.  On this occasion, he’ll be playing host to: hugely upbeat visual dynamo Steve Royle, ‘Pulsates with enough anarchic energy to power a small European Principality’ – Metro; unique observational comic Wouter Meijs, ‘Side-splittingly funny, his take-off of the ‘worst of British’ is right on the money, excellent entertainment’ – Canarian Weekly ; and the fast paced observations of Lincolnshire’s own Pete Phillipson, ‘Great act with a big future’ – Laughing Stock Comedy
